The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department’s Board of Health determines the long-range planning and sets goals for the future direction of the health department. The board ensures that policies and goals are carried out by LFCHD staff. The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department is overseen by the Commissioner of Health, who reports to the Board of Health.

Board of Health Monthly Meetings

The Board of Health Finance Committee and Board Meetings will NOT meet in September, 2026.

  • The Board of Health meets on the second Monday of each month at the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department, 650 Newtown Pike. Meetings begin at 5:45 p.m. on the third floor and are open to the public; view our event calendar to find a meeting date.
  • The Board of Health Finance Committee meets on the second Monday of each month at the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department, 650 Newtown Pike. Meetings begin at 5:00 p.m. on the third floor and are open to the public.  Click here for a legal notice about this meeting time change.
  • The Board of Health Executive Committee will meet at 9:30 a.m. on September 9 (cancelled), October 7, November 4, and December 9, 2026 via video teleconference. To join the meeting, click:    https://lfchd-org.zoom.us/s/88375955438 **The September 9th meeting has been cancelled.
  • Quarterly Merit Council Meetings for FY 2026-27. Meetings begin at 4:00 p.m. on the third floor and online via Teams. To receive the Teams link, please email Emily.Leahy@LFCHD.org
