April’s Board of Health meeting; we took a moment to shine a spotlight on two amazing individuals who are making a real difference in our community. We’re excited to share that Dr. Abeni El-Amin and Dr. Lindsey Jasinski, were honored with the Dr. Rice C. Leach Public Health Hero Award!

This award recognizes individuals who meet the following criteria:

• Exemplary leadership and diligence in promoting public health;
• Remarkable contributions and support in fostering public health programs; and
• Work or actions that have impacted the community’s health in a positive way.

Both recipients have truly gone the extra mile, and have shown a strong commitment to improving the health of Lexington residents.

The awards were proudly presented by Board member Dr. Maria Gomez and Board Chair Dr. Majd Jabbour who shared a few words about the incredible impact these individuals have had.
