Health Education

On this page you find a list of resources relating to various health education topics such as childcare, diabetes, breastfeeding support, and nutrition.

The mission of the School Health Services team is to support districts as they support students with their health needs.  We know that there is a critical link between health and learning and the role of schools to help improve the well-being of students.

Research shows that when school districts and schools have effective policies and practices that support the health of their students and staff there are positive results:

  • Student concentration improves
  • Student behavior problems are reduced
  • Student and staff attendance increases
  • Children and adolescents develop life-long health-promoting behavior
